Client: Racket Barn
Role: Art Director, Designer
The launch of a new indoor racket sports facility in Glasgow, at a time of rapid growth in the padel and pickleball market.
Objective: Design a brand that cuts through the fast-growing pickleball and padel space and stays relevant as the market matures. Across digital, print and every channel in between, it needed to convey premium and high quality, yet energetic and welcoming, building a community with a genuine sense of social belonging.
Process: Moodboards and colourways from visual research, taking the client through how competitors and other sports brands approach branding. They were drawn to green and terracotta, which shaped the palette. From the moodboards, three distinct concepts were developed, leading to the final direction.
Result: A last-minute change of direction meant renaming the brand Padel Barn became Racket Barn, opening it up as a growing racket sports brand in Glasgow rather than one tied specifically to padel. The identity is now live across multiple channels and has built strong recognition in Glasgow as a brand that delivers on quality and promise.
